As discussed a few times across multiple socials, here is a proof of concept build of Yoshi’s Island: The Definitive Edition, an alternate project of Super Mario World: The Definitive Edition.
This build currently only contains a bunch of .ASM stuff, but I plan on eventually adding things like SMA3 stuff, etc.
Currently Added features:
– Added a better system for Middle Rings
– Added a font expansion to the ROM, containing things like characters that will later be available from SMA3, custom characters, and fixes to unaligned characters in the font
– Restored an unused feature which saves player lives upon resets
– Fixed a bug where landing on a moving shell wouldn’t always stop it from motion
– Added SFC controller buttons to the button colors on the overworld
– Includes an alternate patch that mutes the annoying Baby Mario crying noises from taking a hit
