LEMMINGS Colour Palette & Level Title Fix v1.1 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Colours changed to match the Commodore Amiga version.
Yes, you read it right. The Super Nintendo version of Lemmings deserves to get the Colour Palette and Level title Fix Hack treatment too. The writing palettes now match close to the Commodore Amiga version whilst keeping the good SNES version specs in place.
Although it wasn’t easy to change the colour palette on this port as this took hours to do and a different method to palette hacking. But got there in the end. Saying that, Glad the Super Nintendo version gives me more colour palettes up to 32,768 colours in order to try and make it as very close to the Amiga colour palette as possible.
Along with not only some Level Title Fixes. but restored the Levels that were censored by Nintendo of America.
Despite the Level changes to the USA & PAL version. What’s interesting about this is, according to the wiki called “The Cutting Room Floor” The levels that were altered because of Nintendo of America’s strict censorship. these altered levels got their own Level ID rather than overwriting the original level ID. I used the HEX editor to find those level ID’s within the ROM from the PAL version and the Japanese Super Famicom version. Went ahead and changed the HEX values of the level ID. after saving it and testing the game. the levels worked.

“NOTE: Do NOT patch this Hack with the Lemmings v1.0 or v1.1 USA Revision ROM or the Lemmings Japan ROM. it will not work. You MUST patch this with the Lemmings Europe PAL ROM.”
I can confirm this ROM hack is compatible to run on real hardware using the SD2SNES Flashcart on a real Super Nintendo Hardware using SNSP-CPU-1CHIP-02 motherboard revision.

Hey Josho, I wrote the review based on your awesome video you uploaded on Youtube, I haven’t actually played it. If I had a PAL SNES console and a SNES EverDrive i’d give this a go mate but I don’t own one because back in the day I was always on Sega’s side having owned a Master System and a Mega Drive and I hated Nintendo back then. I guess I could always download a SNES emulator and give it a try?
Hey Adrian.
Sorry for the late response as I was out for dinner with family and friends since it’s my birthday today.
Yeah you can try it out on a SNES Emulator if you like since that will work fine. The SNES I use is the same one I had since December 1996 which still works. I used a different brand flash cart as this one I use isn’t a Super Everdrive. it’s a SD2SNES (pre-FX-PAK) with more chip enhancements in the cartridge. Believe it or not it lets you have a custom Menu like I put on mine with my Retro Gaming channel banner which I made. 🙂
Anyways, I’ll read the review here and the comments on YouTube. ^^
Happy Birthday Josh! Hope you had a great dinner out with your family and no need to apologise. Hey it’s my birthday today on the 12th of march so we’re pretty close.
That SD2SNES of yours is pretty awesome and I like how you out your youtube channel logo on the flash cart.
Thank you heaps, Adrian. It went truly well.
Ah there you go. 🙂 Happy Birthday to you too then mate. I hope it has been a great one for you as well.
Oh yes indeed. That’s why I chose to opt-in for this one rather than the Super Everdrive cause of adding your own customised menus.
