About the Game
A Metroidvania title developed by Sunsoft during its golden era, originally released in Japan as Hebereke and later in Europe as Ufouria: The Saga with redesigned characters. While the game offers high-quality gameplay, the original development suffered from significant cut content, resulting in a somewhat abstract in-game narrative.

The game text itself suggests consulting the instruction manual for the full story. To address this, the translation team located the original Japanese manual to reconstruct the narrative background for this release.

Localization Notes

Great care was taken to capture the distinct speech styles of the characters. While the original Japanese text for Hebe utilized a stutter (referencing the character’s name, which implies a “feverish drunk”), this translation adapts the dialogue to reflect that delirious nature. The other characters retain their specific archetypes: Sukizaemon speaks with the formality of a samurai, O-Chan uses the regal tone of a queen, and Mr. Jennifer adopts the persona of a street punk.
