Kirby’s Avalanche is infamous for being the one game where Kirby not only has a large amount of dialogue, but is also very out-of-character and acts like a jerk, unlike his usual kind and cheerful depiction. The game also has very stoic dialogue for many characters, backed with a decent amount of engrish.
This hack rewrites much of the game’s dialogue to be more consistent in tone with the rest of the series; most notably, it makes Kirby nicer. Not everything is rewritten; some scenes are replaced entirely, while others are only slightly adjusted or even completely unchanged. If this game got an official release today with a new script, I’d like to think it would be something like this.
In addition to the normal patch, the download includes an alternate patch that also replaces all in-dialogue references to Avalanche with Puyo Puyo. Apply whichever patch you prefer.
