Golden Axe III Definitive Edition (Genesis) Romhack

This hack improves the original game with new features and refinements:

• All routes available in a single playthrough.
• Cooperative mode with Supreme Magic in single player.
• Reworked colors (Dosilwa Hack).
• Six-button controller support.
• Ability to switch characters during stages, including the griffin.
• Start with 3 potions instead of 1 — also upon losing a life.
• Start with 5 lives (maximum of 9), but continues remain at 3.
• Region free (USA > EUR).
• Minor speed adjustments for all characters, resulting in smoother movement.
• Optional Spanish and Portuguese translation patch.

Note: Ultimate Mode, which enables most of these features, must be activated in the game options.

Doesn’t work for 2 players

The idea of having all routes available in a single playthrough sounded like an amazing idea, and it is if you're playing alone. However, this feature doesn't seem to work when trying to play a 2 player co-op game with a friend. And yes, even though the "Ultimate Mode" was enabled in the menu, it still didn't work as intended. Instead, the game merely plays out as it would in the original version, by making the players select which route to take. Yet strangely enough, you still start out with three magic bottles instead of one, and five lives instead of three. It's only the "all routes available" part which doesn't seem to work correctly in 2 player mode.

Hopefully the author of this romhack will be able to fix this problem in a future update. If not for this one glaring issue, this romhack would've easily been a five star review. But as it is now, I can't give it anymore than two stars at best.
