The first two levels of Doom II ported to SNES! No other content from Doom II has been ported.
This hack only uses the assets already available in the game (except for the levels, title screen, and intermission background, of course).
Version 1.2 (09/18/2024) backports the SNES mouse fixes, circlestrafing code, and MSU-1 driver from my SNES Doom improvement and MSU-1 patches. The levels can actually have their proper music now! I figured it was only fair that this hack could enjoy those advancements as well. Patches for MSU-1 and non-MSU-1 are provided.
DISCLAIMER:
The article about this hack on Time Extension (likely how most people got to this page) claims that this is an ongoing project to port the full game.
However, as of right now, I do not have any intentions to actually port the full game. This was just done for fun as a techdemo to demonstrate what is now possible with the tools now available.

Big thanks to Randy Linden for programming Doom for SNES, and releasing the source code! This would not have been possible without his hard work.
Thanks for this awesome project, I’m supporting you on my small youtube channel. I will be watching for updates.
I do not intend to port the full Doom II. The Time Extension article about this hack claims that this will be a full port, but that claim is false. Sorry.
I was hoping that you would continue with the project and make the rest of the maps. I understand the time involved and if you are not going to do it no problem, thanks anyway for the demo.
This is really cool! Great job so far! 🙂
