Admittedly i just found out about this place, like... less then 30 minutes ago? And from a RHDN forum post linking here as the download host no less (it was that Donkey Konga 2 hack btw lol). I don't really know much about this drama or anything of the like. But as a place that hosts hacks in light of the biggest one shutting its doors, I'm more than happy to give RHDO support! When I get the chance I'll put up the couple of hacks I made here, and inject this place with some much needed love and attention <3

To be honest, as a kid I always found the song selection in this game to be a huge turn off. And while I heard better things of the JP song selection, I always found the idea of giving the that version a whirl daunting because of the language barrier (despite being a rhythm game which makes that a bit silly of a point, but i digress haha). Thanks for spending the time to make this!

Until today I haven't posted anything here because I was satisfied at RHDN (despite some setbacks), but it will be a pleasure if you accept me here, long live RHDO...

Long time lurker but a first time poster here. I remember seeing how screwed Romhacking.net was when they started rejecting decent translations because they "weren't good enough", despite working just fine. If this is the new place, I'm all for it. I can't think of anywhere better.

I'm a longtime romhacking.net user. Hopefully, this can be the place we can download slowdown free SNES fixes, translation mods, etc. for the next 20 years here now instead. Romhacking.net you will be missed.

Thanks for all your efforts in maintaining the sites despite the people that have it out for you. It’s actually disgusting how fast misinformation is spread and upvoted on Reddit. A lot of people still don’t know about this site and they end up seeing those lies.

As long as “a” community exists, the metaphorical torch of romhacking will still be lit, thus if enough people gather here we will rebuild

Super Ale Bros. Redux review Patch version: 1.0c Played: August 2, 2024 Synopsis: A complete overhaul of the basic game mechanics of Super Mario Bros. Quite a few interesting level design quirks. New additions: Pause menu: You can turn on or off the music, save the game, quit the game, etc. You can no longer pause anywhere, such as during the end-of-level sequence. Backwards scrolling: You can walk all the way back to the beginning of the level, much like in Mario 3. Shell changes: You can pick up and throw shells. You can kick shells, but you can also drop them and throw them upward like in Mario World. You can hit blocks with shells and retrieve the items and coins from them, much like in Mario 3. New block types: P-switches swap brick blocks with coins, like in later games. Music note blocks can be bounced off for higher jumps, but they don't move when you jump on them, so it isn't as clean as in Mario 3. On/off blocks affect blocks created for them, they can add more puzzle/hidden item mechanics to stages. Underwater sections in overworld stages, allow you to switch between swimming and walking mode. In addition, permanent underwater stages have been fixed. You can now collect coin blocks and see piranha plants underwater. Level design and graphics: Some very original and unique level quirks. I particularly like the platforms hanging from ropes on the ceiling. The world themes are also a nice touch. The beginning is very easy. Layout is similar difficulty to vanilla, but more powerups are available, and it's easy to rack up the extra lives. The game starts to get hard around the end of world 4, and by the end, it is significantly more difficult. There is also a hard-mode that can be selected on the title screen if you hit A. Overall, I very much enjoyed the game, but world 9 was not good for my old, carpal-tunneled thumbs. I also got baited into a softlock in 2-3 where my only choice was to die (see screenshot). I thought there might be a hidden 1up or something to get me out of there, but there wasn't. Why even have that ledge there? Rating: 9.5/10 Highly recommended.

*redacted*, not much you can do about it, aside correct them every now and then. I'd say just ignore those shitheads and focus on what you like to do: share amazing games with the world. You may not think its much, but honestly, without your work, I wouldn't have discovered so many obscure and forgotten games got translations by incredible people willing to put their time translating games that have been ignored by time, you and all these people really have my thanks for bringing these works to light.

If you need real hardware beta testing with a Mega CD game, I also own that console, but it is a PAL Mega CD

I only recently found out about CDRomance and it's my new favorite site. I beg of you, please have a plan to distribute the website data of it and of RHDO to archive sites so that when the day inevitably comes, some of us can pick up where you left off.
