Got introduced into the world of ROM hacking in around 2010 when I downloaded a pack of old Super Mario World hacks, and have played a bunch of them since that point in time. I started hacking the same game around 5 years later with a few experimental modifications in Lunar Magic (that have been lost since then).
I started being involved with ROM hacking a larger scale in 2021 when I first stumbled upon the Super Mario 64 hack called B3313, and got into its development team eventually, which ended with me becoming the director of its "unofficial 1.0" version, B3313 Unabandoned , released in 2023.
