Hikari Shinwa: Palutena no Kagami is an adventure game, published by Nintendo, originally on the Famicom Disk System. (This game was localized under the name “Kid Icarus” on the Nintendo Entertainment System.)
The differences between this version of the game and its localized counterparts are as follows…
- Progress in the game is saved. No more passwords!
- This game uses the expanded sound channels of the Famicom Disk System, which the NES version lacks.
- The game has a higher difficulty, compared to its localized version.
- The final stage is treated more like a horizontal shooter in which the player must constantly press the A button to stay high in the air.
- This game has a worse “bad” ending, compared to the localized version, and the “best” ending from the localized version of the game is not present.
Be sure to use either the IPS or BPS version of the patch on the ROM. (Don’t use both patches.)
