The original Worms game for Game Boy features 24 handmade levels to play on. Even with a random placement of worms, it can become a bit bland if you play it often. This mod aims to remedy that by creating procedurally generated levels. It has around 4.2 billion possible ones, so you shouldn’t run out of them anytime soon.
The mod also offers a graphical preview of each level before you start a round. You may choose to play or get another randomly generated level if it doesn’t look interesting enough. If you find a particularly fun level, you can write down the seed (which is also displayed on the pause screen during gameplay) and enter it on the level-preview screen. This way you may replay it as many times as you want, whenever you feel like it, or even share it with a friend.
The original Worms for Game Boy had no wind, but my previous mod ‘Worms Plus’ added that feature, complete with custom wind/power meters. This carries over to this mod as well. Some people may prefer to play without wind, so I’ve now made it possible to turn it on/off in the options menu.
There is a new title screen and a reduced number of splash screens. The original game had five screens you had to go through before the title screen, with the first being unskippable. I’ve consolidated the information found on them, now there are only two and they are both skippable.
This mod also contains some other minor bugfixes and QoL changes. Additionally all bugfixes and improvements made in the previous ‘Worms Plus’ mod are all present here as well.
