Sonic 1 – YOLO (You Only Live Once) Edition is a harder version of Sonic The Hedgehog 1 for Sega Genesis.

• You start off with one life only.
• All the rings are removed.
• All monitors are now Eggman Monitors, which will kill you when broken.
• Checkpoints are removed.
• The score system is staying at 0, which means no extra continues.
• There are no extra lives or shields.
• The debug mode is turned off.
• If you try to skip to the next Zone by using the level select code, it will start you off in Green Hill Zone Act 1.
• If you die once, then it’s Game Over.
• The only way to cheat is to use Game Genie codes or using save sates on an emulator.

Good luck trying to beat the whole game without dying once.
