WHATS NEW IN UPDATE 0.9R:

* A new playable character! Sailor Neptune has joined the battle. (She is very overpowered for now)
* 2 new bosses!
* 3 new songs!
* An extra score digit, enabling scores to go beyond 999,999. Bosses and certain enemies now give huge point bonuses.
* Enemies are more aggressive overall, HP and damage were adjusted slightly.
* Updates for the 5 main girls. A couple of small buffs and nerfs.
* Altered a few enemy and item placements.
* Removed the constant flashing text prompting a second player to press start.
* Updated the credits Special Thanks text, and the message for beating Senshi.
* Thanks to PPI_Akiko, “Best 10 Sailors” High Score texts are now fixed.
* Fixed a juggling bug that allowed the player to grab enemies that just became airborne, leaving the player stuck grabbing nothing for a second. This effected all characters but was most noticeable with Usagis back grab.
* Redesigned the Pirate Ship scenario on stage 3, it was too laggy with the fat guy breathing fire and the glitchy knives.
* Various small changes, fixes and adjustments to make the game feel better overall.

Also thanks to PPI_Akiko for help with making another character slot playable and so I could add Neptune without her being juggled like other enemies, and advice to use Shiva since specific enemies like Zamza have game breaking bugs when played. The 3 new songs added and character switching are also from the Streets of Rage 2 hack “Hong Kong 97” so be sure to check it out.

EASY TEAM EDITION?

There is now a completely separate patch called Easy Team Edition. Only apply ONE patch per ROM. They are both mostly the same patch, with a few key differences.

Easy Team Edition changes the following:

* Neptune is not playable. You can now switch between the 5 inner senshi at any time by pressing the Z button (6 button support) or A+C.
* 2 players can now select the same senshi on character select.
* You can now continue 5 times before a Game Over.
* Default lives set to 5.
* XP System has been added. Every 100,000 points increases your attack and defense by 1. Credit to Billy Time!
* Stage 8 boss can still be air comboed. (This has been removed from main patch)

This patch removes much of the challenge. It lets you switch characters whenever you want, you have a ton of continues, and the XP bonuses make you incredibly powerful to breeze through everything.

Basically, Easy Team Edition is for those who like to feel overpowered, or maybe those who are beginners and Sailor Moon fans that aren’t familiar with difficult arcade beat em ups.

The detailed differences between this hack and the original Streets of Rage 2 (USA) are listed below:

* 5 playable characters with tons of new moves. Pick your favorite inner senshi and punish your enemies!
* Almost every single enemy has been replaced with new characters.
* Items and artworks have been replaced to be Sailor Moon themed.
* Air Combos have been added, find unique ways to style on your enemies and do massive damage!
* Holding the jump button while getting knocked down lets you land safely from all hits, similar to throws.
* 6 Button Support. Back attacks are used by simply pressing the Y button. They have been buffed significantly.
* The 5 girls each have a unique special move that can be used by holding down the B button and releasing.
* KO Count can be viewed by pausing the game.
* Many new songs have been added.
* NO CONTINUES. The stakes are higher. Choose your character wisely and make it to the end!
* Mania difficulty (Chaos) and Level Select are available at the start.
* Wave based “Survival” mode is available.
* Jump lag glitch has been fixed.
* Raised HP for many enemies because of the powerful air combo system.
* Enemies are much more aggressive overall and do more damage.
* Remixed enemy placements.
* Remixed item placements.
* Player characters now have an animation while in the air as they are recovering from being thrown.
* Player characters can now move during the slow-motion after defeating a boss. Go for a photo finish!
