Normally, in order to access four extra characters, you need to input a code (found at the bottom of this document). This hack makes the characters always available.

Patch the file “Puzzle Nintama Rantarou – Ninjutsu Gakuen Puzzle Taikai no Dan (Japan).sfc”

When the game logo is on screen, enter the code. You should hear a confirmation sound.
Now on the Player Select screen the following characters are available: First Year Group, Dokutake-jou Ninjas, Hemu Hemu, and Hieta Happousai.
