”My ears hurt!”
This is a Meme hack of Sonic 1 that is designed to sound just like Sonic 1 playing from an ATGames Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Firecore console. The audio is completely out of tune with several instruments on mute. The V2 hack sounds even worse! But has the notable graphic improvements such as the scrolling clouds in Green Hill, the water rippling effect in Labyrinth and the multi parallax scrolling backgrounds of Marble, Spring Yard and Scrap Brain Zones.
The emulation to that of an actual ATGames console is still not 100% accurate but it’s pretty darn close and I think after downloading and trying this you’ll agree. The point of the hacks was to make them sound as awful as possible.
INSTRUCTIONS: Inside the ZIP file you’ll find the IPS patch, it is in Lunar IPS format and V1 needs to be patched to the (Europe,USA) version and V2 needs to be patched to the (Japan, Korea) version.
NOTE: The Youtube video down below shows another secret build of the hack that is even more accurate but was not made public.
