The MK Home Port We Shoulda Got Back in the Early 90’s…

Written by: Creature667 - March 12, 2025

Now, I've been somewhat obsessive over this hack since its first iteration dropped by Master Linkuei, Billytime, Danilo and Chev, but the subtle corrections that Rael has implemented has polished this old game up to a near mirror sheen. The original hack was impressive but the little bit of jank left over upon its first public release has all but vanished. Was a big fan of the hack in its vanilla form but Rael has ascended this from a merely damn good hack to a veritable piece of fine art. I hope he keeps making incremental improvements and that one...

Allows this hidden FDS gem become more accessible to English players

Written by: justaicon - March 11, 2025

I am very glad that we have a translation patch for this game, there may not be a lot of writing in this game but it allows more players to embrace in one of the lesser known titles for the FDS. If you liked Legend of Zelda or those top-down segments in Blaster Master, this game is for you.

This Blows The Original Western Censored SNES Version Out Of The Water!

Written by: Adrian Gauna - March 11, 2025

I am amazed at what J.Russell has done to this port of Lemmings!  In this hack of Lemmings for the PAL SNES Josh has improved it greatly by restoring all the original shades and tinges to all the level tile set colour palettes. The Icy crystal blue ones now have that black centre of the poles, the marble, rusted brick tiles look better, the red hell fire levels look more darker and scarier. Josh has also changed some of the level titles on his own and used the correct spelling for TRICKY 17 ''Diet Lemmingade'' The SUNSOFT special 5 levels...

This Is A Huge Accomplishment And Helps Introduce The Series To More Western Audiences

Written by: Adrian Gauna - March 8, 2025

Okay i've played through the hack from start to finish and am very pleased with all the in-game dialogue being changed to English and being able to finally understand what the characters are talking about before battle. The game's story makes almost no sense and the characters that Arle encounters are almost put in at random from different cultures and myths, but many Japanese games of this era tend to continue in a way that makes no sense at all and back in the day not originally being available for a Western audience means these games can get away with...

Simple But Well Executed Recolor With A New Take On Cutscenes

Written by: Andrewskey - March 5, 2025

The translation made to have Batman's sprite reflect more closely to the movie's counterpart is so effective in this hack that it leaves me to wonder why this recolor wasn't implemented with the game's first release. While the darkened suit may seem like it'd make player readability more tasking, Batman's sprite has just enough gray pixels around his figure that he doesn't completely camouflage in any of the game's backgrounds.  On top of the awesome sprite recolor during gameplay, great attention to detail was made to fit Batman's blackened color scheme with the newly added prototype cutscenes. Joker's mugshot is...

A Very Hearty Addition, But comes at a cost..

Written by: 2SpaZ-4-U - March 4, 2025

Very cool addition, and sooooo much better than the crystal gimmick, and obviosly a lot more true to the series imo.. Works perfectly on a clean rom, however it, is not compatible with the Revised Edition in my testing. To bad, cos unfotunatly that makes this otherwise awsome hack a miss for me. Hopefully this limitation will be fixed in the future.. I one were to prefer the standard game over the Revised Edtition tho, this is a must have..   Review By: 2Spaz-4-U

The original colors of the game were chosen for a specific reason - for color readability and accents. This is the work of designers. Nostalgia also plays an important role. In the hack, a black hero appears on black backgrounds.

this is the greatest nes game i've ever seen, nothing can top this. my only request is for a proper editor to be made for the game. i already know about the sram issues, i just mean an editor less complicated than the one that currently exists for the game, and at least compress the half-dozen batch files into 1? as for the actual game, the physics are more responsive than the original. 10/10

Not Only The Best Port Of Lemmings But The Prettiest Lemmings Hack On The Sega Mega Drive and Sega Genesis!

Written by: Adrian Gauna - February 17, 2025

This port of Lemmings for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis has always held a special place in my heart, it has one of the greatest soundtracks to ever grace the console, the graphics are also very accurate to the Amiga original, this version also has more content than all the other ports on other consoles, plus this port is nostalgic to me my parents bought it for me way back in 1994 when I was 10 years old and it's always been a game with great replay value getting me to constantly revisit it every 2 or 3 years. I know...

A new layout to explore

Written by: Shuan - February 3, 2025

IntroductionThis mod overhauls the balance of the game, but the prominent feature are the many edited stage layouts that allow for a new experience regarding the exploration of the castle. The new layouts come with new ways to access areas and to use skills to navigate through zones faster by using Power of Wolf (e.g. Underground Caverns), without having to rely on Wing Smash (which can only be gained later in the game). ExplorationThe new layouts heavily rely on narrow corridors or entrances that require Alucard to use skills like Soul of Wolf and Form of Mist.Progression is also changed, which...

Profoundly Inspired Adaption to My Favorite Game of All Time

Written by: jay33 - February 2, 2025

Having been a fan of this game for over 30 years, this hack was too good to be true for me. It was pure magic to play these new parts of the game, and they really enhanced the experience for me! So, thanks so much to the makers of Secret of Mana Plus! This is the version I'll be coming to for all my future playthroughs.  Why was this hack so great? Looking down on the Mana world from the aerial Flammie perspective, I always felt like there had to be so much more in that vast map than the...

Great concept that needs further tweaking for consistency

Written by: Andrewskey - January 25, 2025

Adding a double jump to a game series known for its fair share of punishing pixel perfect platforming would make this an easy recommendation for anyone looking to revisit these games. However, this patch is sadly not that reliable at the moment. The main inconsistency comes from whenever Mega Man goes through (walking/climbing up or down a ladder into) a screen transition as he'll have to jump/fall normally at least once on the next screen in order to activate the double jump ability again. The exceptions to this quirk is whenever Mega Man drops into starting a stage or when...

Does what it says on the tin, but needs extra fix for Beetle PSX

Written by: RoSoDude - February 3, 2025

This patch identifies the mistaken attribute on Steiner's Thunder Slash that made it a useless ability. It now works correctly, with good utility for its availability in the game (end of Disc 3) before you can make use of Shock; in fact, it can still be a useful ability in Disc 4 if you're already hitting the 9999 damage cap with Shock and want a more MP-efficient alternative. The patch author states "This will not work on Beetle PSX for whatever reason (goes to a black screen in battle), but every other emulator is confirmed to work." This is because...

If You Suck At This Game Like I Do, Then You Should Download This!

Written by: Adrian Gauna - January 23, 2025

This is a review of the basic single player mode patch only. I'm sure the other two patches are great, but the single player patch is the icing on the cake as most people are gonna play this game against the computer. I adore any hack or patch that makes a game easier and that's exactly what this patch does. This is an interesting patch that gives the 1 player single mode against the game more firepower against the opponent robots. Every 20,000 points scored instantly levels up the single player mode making it so with every chain made, more...

Great Sailormoon Streets Of Rage Hack, Just Needs Some Fine Tuning

Written by: Adrian Gauna - January 22, 2025

Okay the wife and I have been watching a lot of Sailormoon lately and playing the Sega Mega Drive game of it and I remember that Yoni put out this hack a while back so I went back to try it and got mixed reactions from playing it. Shall we start with the bad things and then move on to the good things? Bad Things:  The movement of Sailormoon is very slow, felt like a snail crawl which makes it difficult to creep around the pack of enemies and land a hit or two. I found that picking up the...

Final Fight 2 now flows better and is more fun to play!

Written by: RHZ - January 11, 2025

The original game is pretty good but feels like a slog to complete because the enemies take too much time to defeat and it feels slow and a little monotonous to advance though the game. Giving 2x Strenght to both the player and the enemies (trying to keep the original difficulty/balance) makes the game flow at a better pace and more fun to play. Compatible with the Japanese uncensored version of Final Fight 2. Thanks to BillyTime! Games for improving this classic beat 'em up! Highly recommended!
