Famicom Expansion Port Support (NES) Romhack

Written by: 8bitRetroLove - February 11, 2026

Thank you so much! Keep up the good work. Please make more games like this: Rocketeer (U) [!].nes Super Robin Hood.nes Tom & Jerry (J).nes. I know Tom and Jerry already have an American version, but I'd also like a Japanese version, since it's lightweight. Please make more games like this where this is lacking!!!

cool idea!

Written by: T-Bone - February 11, 2026

i like the custom song that was made here, it really gives me master system vibes. the pixel art being ported onto the megadrive from the original game was pretty neat as well! i also saw the easter egg with susie if you run the rom on ntsc and thought it was pretty funny as well.

Thank you so much, Max, it was a surprise! This game and the other new addition to the list are fantastic. You've done what many have hoped for for years. Looking forward to Terminator 2 :)

The definitive hack of SOR2

Written by: Neti - February 5, 2026

Excellent hack for any Streets of Rage 2 fan! The modifier list allows for a unique experience for each player (I personally love the faster walking option). As a suggestion, would it be possible to add the modifier list to the game's startup screen, for example, so the codes are available right there in the game? Congratulations on all your hard work!

Terminator 2

Written by: edwinmusic - February 4, 2026

Hi Max, a Terminator 2 project would also be very welcome, especially for Famicom RF users with RGB Lava 2.0, since the original controller is used to change the color palette provided by RGB Lava 2.0. Thank you in advance.

Amazing

Written by: edwinmusic - February 3, 2026

Thanks again, what a great surprise! I recently bought a Famicom with RGB Lava 2.0 and there are some great classic games I couldn't play with the expansion port. Thanks for continuing to do projects like these; it will go down in ROM hacking history.

Awesome . Thank you so much

Written by: edwinmusic - February 3, 2026

Thank you very much, brother. I really appreciate it; we've been waiting for things like this for many years, and being able to play with turbo controls on the Famicom is fantastic. We hope to see more projects like this and other ROMs that need an expansion port. Thank you very much, brother. Free and Victorious Ukraine

If You Want The Game To Be Harder, Then This Is For You

Written by: Adrian Gauna - January 30, 2026

Shinobi on the Master System doesn't have many mods to it so any mod is welcoming, but upon trying out all three of these patches it quickly becomes clear that two of the three patches on offer here are very hard, much harder than the original retail game and i'm not sure that's a good thing or a bad thing as this game was already hard enough.  For instance, in the ''Arcade'' and ''Enhanced'' patches the Mandara statues in Round 3-4 each take an extra hit to knock off and they slide faster across the floor than in the original,...

This is truly amazing! I bought a Famicom with the RGB Lava 2.0 system and started using the 15-pin port to use controllers with turbo buttons, but I noticed it didn't work in some games. This is great work! Games like Robocop and Terminator are essential, and many more too. You guys are geniuses! Thank you so much!

Superb Dungeon Design

Written by: Ok Impala! - January 23, 2026

Zelda – Allhallows Eve has become my favorite LTTP hack, and I wasn’t really expecting that beforehand. Knowing that the hack was created in just two months, I kept my expectations in check. But now, after having played it. I’m honestly stunned by the result this team has produced in such a short amount of time. Make no mistake, this is a fully featured hack. New world, new dungeons, new music, new graphics and even some new bosses. It’s frankly amazing! The highlight of this hack are the five new dungeons.  All masterfully crafted. This is superb dungeon design, matching...

Mk Arcade edition But not quite

Written by: 2SpaZ-4-U - January 21, 2026

The Arcade edition have had numerous updates and improvements, however for some reason the work of the  Rael G.C. Enhanced edition is always left out in this version, wich i think is sad i as a lot of graphical touchup is missing here.  Crosss flashing seems to work just fine, but if this process overwrites the updates of v1.0d im not sure.  This is still an amazing hack, but i personally feel the MKA ED v2.2 is the more defined and polished version of the two..

Wǒ ài Běijīng Tiān’ānmén, Tiān’ānmén shàng tàiyáng shēng

Written by: 120Pythons - January 4, 2026

This hack is legendary, it completely transforms Streets of Rage 2 into a roller coaster of absurdity and humor. It is impossible to play "SOR2: Hong Kong 97" without laughing or cracking a smile. I am very glad to see it still getting updated with cool additions. The hacking ability (and humor) that PPI_Akiko displays here is unmatched.  So many things in this hack leave me amazed, wondering how it is even possible this was done in Streets of Rage 2. A lot of consideration was put into this hack to make it a wild experience that takes inspiration from...

Looks great, sounds great

Written by: xJ4cks - January 3, 2026

Really like this so far, and I've only made it to Donut Plains but the added details and content are quite evident. Hearing a new song before leaving Yoshi's Island sets a great tone, and seeing the Cape on the world map is awesome! Thanks for making this happen as a Christmas release, this is super nostalgic and very sweet! CRC32 B19ED489 appears to work fine, for the record. UPDATE: I've seen a lot more of this since the initial review and I still love it. There are something like 4 or more extra songs imported from remakes of this...

awesome and fresh version of a classic

Written by: xJ4cks - December 16, 2025

This looks fantastic! Tremendously entertaining to see a modern face on Lakitu, Goombas, Koopas, and everyone else. King Koopa finally looks like Bowser! Mario matches his SMW appearance quite closely, given the 8-bit color limitations, and this is a nfity achievement all by itself. Many of the "tall mushroom" levels have their own unique landscape tiles now, and World 3 is much funkier than its prior black sky. The bonus world vines have little piranha plants on top, even-- a lot of careful and clever work is on display in this hack. Retaining the original palettes with their browns and...

Excellent Graphics Upgrade

Written by: xJ4cks - December 16, 2025

Highly recommend this work, it makes SGG feel fresh and new! The sprites showing Artoria in armor look fantastic, and match the game's world perfectly. Spell animations are also extremely well done, the level of quality and detail is completely on par with the original game art. Thoughtful details like adjusting the extra life icon and map sprites add to the polish of the graphics overhaul; providing 4 options for the main character make this a standout project. Top tier graphics hack!

This is great… fans patching the game 35 years later.

Written by: Arthur - November 27, 2025

This is great... Would it be possible for you to do the same for JP version of SMW? It's quite different from US version, yet it never got any release with revised Luigi sprite (no all stars + world cart for JP)

5 Stars for CTB patch

Written by: GroundThing - November 3, 2025

I've never been a huge fan of the ATB system of Final Fantasy, since while I have no problem with reaction speed and timing as mechanics in games, that's not what I come to RPGs for, so the CTB enhancement turns a game I always wanted to love into a game I finally do. I can't speak too much to the ATB improvements without the CTB add on, since I did play a little bit with just the base patch, but it seemed solid, though still not 100% to my cup of tea.

Made an already fantastic colorization even better

Written by: Simone D. Alemanno - October 29, 2025

Along with the Canon Samus and Cannon Consistency Fix addendum patches, this hack makes the EJRTQ colorization the absolute best version of Metroid II ever. The only thing missing to make it perfect, though, would be a GB lockout screen since the original hack never had one. But I'll just leave that to someone else.

I am a big fan of Mortal Kombat Project on MUGEN but I can only play it on my laptop so when I found your mod I got excited because you made something very similar and yet added some very original ideas and I can play it on an emulator on my phone too! I love your mod, great work!
