Fossil Fighters contains “beta” versions of the three areas of the hub world island. This hacks them in using the simplest method possible, by swapping the model/collision files around. Sure, all the loading zones are in weird spots, but at least there are no crashes (unlike when swapping the map definition files).
This patch comes in two versions:
- “names_day.xdelta”: The three areas are swapped with their beta counterparts. Simple as that.
- “docks_day.xdelta”: The fighter area becomes the beta park area, and vice versa (but guild is still guild). This version exists because in the beta island, the docks to go to the digsites is in the park area for some reason. The sizes on it work perfectly, so I wanted people to be able to use it themselves.
As always use one or the other, not both.
Also, as the patch names imply, I originally wanted to make versions that use the nighttime version of the beta park, which gets used in the actual game as the setting for the scene at night with Rosie. Alas, that map is too high up, so entering it from either side causes you to spawn in the void. Thus, there are only the two patches.
