Because of ASMX PPC module incompletion -model3_8 accuracy test was “half-blind” – through the comparison of image view in Usenti and tiles.bin hex content, and also pal.bin content with a source 8bpp BMP hex data palette section.
Also, unlike tile and palette data, the tilemap data are generated in a more “traditional” form for a while, without of correction for a specific bytes order inside a Model 3 2D-subsystem related RAM sections.
If the source tile data is non-8×8, the order of result 8×8 tiles is from left to the right, from top 8px-high row to bottom.
If you use a rohga_decr format, уou must load the decrypted original chars rom by the whole to get the correct result, and only after that to pull out the necessary Model 3 tiles from the tiles.bin file you got.
If you’re going to convert the Taito System Z sprites, each its rom must be splitted before all 8 taken parts enfusement back.
Since the previous release, we have a 3 new target and 2 source formats. old_sprite_big with old_sprite_little and taito_z with taito_z_mirror has been united to the single formats with an adjustment through the additional argument (-full in the first case and -ref for second). The tilemap entry size is expanded from the word to long word. The output files names are derives from input file name now.
