Choco-nilla/strawberry hack of Mega Man 2 (the American version). Heavily inspired by the phantom bosses in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This hack features…
* Mega Man 9 color palette for the Mega Buster
* New facial expressions for Mega Man, including the Weapon Get screen, ending and 1-up
* New color palettes for Robot Masters, stages and weapons
* Faster Buster shots
* Increased speed for weapon/health refills
* Swapped Items
* Modified Robot Masters
* Modified weapons
* QoL graphical and level changes
* Fixed/omitted frustrating enemy placements (e.g. Pipi in Crash Man’s stage, Sniper Joe in Wily 4)
* New rooms for Boobeam Trap, Robbits in Wood Man’s stage and a redesigned Wily 6
* Modified Robot Master rooms (except Heat Man’s)
Edit (9/13/24): I didn’t realize that I accidentally added a solid tree block in Wood Man’s stage. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, it is now fixed to be a background block.

Update on Megaman 2 Phantasia’s progress:
I used my grandma’s 10 year old Lenovo computer to develop the romhack. Soon after 1.1 came out, I restarted the computer and a “start pxe over ipv4” error showed up for reasons unknown. It no longer works. I had to buy my own laptop to continue working on Phantasia, but it will be a few weeks until it gets delivered. I am sending this message from my phone. As for how the community feels about my romhack, well… it’s quite rough. The first person who commented on it (I’ll call him Mr. Moore) gave respectful, constructive criticism. He believed that I had potential. Next, a Twitch streamer posted a playthrough of 1.0 on YouTube. One viewer chatted with him throughout. In a nutshell, two men pontificate about pixels on a screen. The frequent laughing and insults are examples of cyberbullying. Not at all what constructive criticism is. Don’t support these people, but don’t harass them either.
A sneak peek of what’s to come:
Some more good news: my laptop has arrived, so now I will begin making improvements to this hack.
Proof that the computer doesn’t work:
The good news: I figured out how to edit the code of Mega Man 2 without Ramon Rocha’s editor. Special thanks to Data Crystal for providing the ROM map. Very soon, I will begin writing the coordinates of what I want to change on my notebook planner. Expect tougher enemy encounters and a disabled password system to prevent cheating, among other things.
