Necros Fortress [Eng Hack]
Necros Fortress (or “The Fortress of Neclos”) is a turn-based RPG released in Japan for the PC Engine in 1990 on HuCard. It’s based on a line of candy toys, but don’t let that fool you – this game was designed by the company behind the Far East of Eden and Sakura Wars series.
All 7 chapters of “Fortress of Necros” are now fully playable in English. A full playthrough was undertaken throughout the process to make sure no context was missed. A lowercase font has also been inserted to make the dialogue more readable.
This hack has been tested on real hardware and its tooling is open source.
No game code was directly modified, so all the features of the original game remain intact. This includes the random encounter rate and flashy animated battle scenes (epilepsy warning!).
