”Colour and Graphic hack. Title screen, options screen, select, vs, characters, stages…all
Tried to make an entire graphical hack to turn the Champion Edition into World Warrior.
Due programming limitations, the bosses are still available, but some significant changes are done in the gameplay area.
It’s based on my last Hyper Champion Edition released”.
It’s a Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition ROM hack with colours and graphics changed to make it look just like the arcade original version of ”The World Warrior”. It’s being archived here for safe keeping but will also include the original download page from RomHacking.net.
What’s New And Improved In This One:
- Character Portraits on the ”select your fighter screen” identical to The World Warrior portraits of the arcade original by Capcom.
- VS screen colour changed to black.
- Intro colours improved!
- Fonts have been changed slightly.
- ”Warrior” mode replaces ”Champion” and ”Hyper” mode is still available.
- Stages all have the World Warrior colour schemes to match the arcade original such as the dark red carpet in Dhalsim’s stage, the sunset/sunrise look of Ryu’s stage and the clear blue sky of Guile’s stage.
- Stef’s clear PCM driver patch already included.
- Bosses are still playable.
- Works 100% on real hardware.
Keep in mind that this hack is heavily based off of the arcade version of ”The World Warrior” it isn’t a direct copy and is called ”The World Warrior Plus” meaning it also has extra content not found in the original arcade version such as being able to play as the four bosses.
Inside the ZIP file you’ll find two patches of the same game. V1 and a V2, the only difference V2 has over V1 is that the VS screen colour is black instead of blue.
The patches are in Lunar IPS and must be patched to the USA ROM of ”Street Fighter II’ Special Champion Edition”. Do not patch with the PAL European ROM or the Japanese NTSC ROM.
The patches work for PAL Euro 50Hz Mega Drive consoles and on Japanese NTSC Mega Drive consoles and have no slow music for PAL. The region locks are also removed.
This hack is just as good, if not better than Pyron’s ”Street Fighter II Remastered Edition”.
