Uploader’s Description:
This is Gabriel Pyron’s very first colour hack for Street Fighter II’ Special Champion Edition on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. Because it came out relatively early in the ROM hacking scene in 2014 when SFII colour hacks were considered new, it is only light on changing the colours to this game, mostly just touching up on the shading. The stages, characters and the intro screens have been touched up with better shading. Stef’s PCM fix patch wasn’t added in automatically at the time, I (Adrian Gauna) the dude who is sharing it on this page and writing this patched it in when I originally downloaded the patch for myself years ago.
Unlike the usual ”one size fits all” approach where one single patch is designed to work for all regions, this time there is a specific patch to correspond with a specific region totalling the patches to 3. There is one for each region and they will only work for that region only as they’re region-locked to each other.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Inside the ZIP file you’ll find three patches for this colour hack in Lunar IPS format, all three patches are region significant and must be patched to their corresponding region ROMS. Example: the USA patch must be patched to the USA ROM, European ROM must be patched to the Europe ROM etc.
All patches play perfectly when patched to their region of origin and they all have stef’s PCM driver fix patch already applied by myself.
Checksum is fixed for all patches so no red screen.
NOTES:
Visiting and downloading the patch again all these years later from site A (RomHacking.Net) the patch appears to be broken and gives some severe complications when trying to patch, most notably a red screen even when the correct ROM has been patched and with the checksum fixed. Not sure what has happened to it in recent years but RomHack Plaza has got you covered. The patch has been restored by myself right here so best to download it from this page.
Under ”Relevant link” i’ve added the original download page from RHDN with the now defunct ”broken” patch go figure?
Some screenshots are split down the middle in the one single image to show the original 1993 retail colours vs Pyron’s 2014 colours.

It is very important that your hash information matches the one's above for best results. If your hash information is different to any above, you might have an incorrect ROM or revision and may run into errors! Everything has to match to avoid incorrect checksums, red screens and other graphical glitches.
Adrian Gauna: Fixed checksum and added Stephane's clear PCM and FX fix patch myself.
Most of the files you're about to download need to be applied to your game. Here is a list of utilities that allow you to do this:
- Online Patcher: Marc Roblero's online patcher. Works with many different file types.
- Floating IPS: NWell-known patcher for applying IPS and BPS files.
- Delta Patcher: Used to apply xDelta files.
- More Patchers
On most files, you can also press “Patch It”, to apply the patch without downloading the file.
