Sonic 1 16-bit SMS And GG Palette Editions

Here is an interesting little project done by Gavin Graham which makes the colour palettes of several zones look just like their original 8-bit iterations. Green Hill, Labyrinth, Star Light and Scrap Brain are the zones that have colour palette makeovers and Sonic's sprite has also been modified with 8-bit colour shadings.

Always found these two colour palette hacks interesting and fun to play. When the colours are done right with time and care, the results look amazing!

There is an SMS Palette Edition and a GG Palette Edition, both have slightly different colours to the zones mentioned above and are worth checking out.

FEATURES:

• Title screen Sonic has been modified in colour.

• Updated ROM header.

• Fixed checksum (always handy).

• Makes the game replayable even if it's just for the recolours.

INSTRUCTION: Inside the ZIP file you'll find the IPS patches, they're in Lunar IPS format and simply need to be patched to the (Europe, USA) ROM.
