Rockman 4 Eternal

"Rockman 4: Eternal" is a total conversion hack based on the FC/NES game Rockman 4 (Mega Man 4). This is not merely a ROM hack that tweaks stats or replaces sprites; rather, it completely redesigns and polishes stage structures, boss AI, weapon balancing, and background music—all while preserving the core control feel and 8‑bit visual aesthetic of the original.

Since the project began, multiple demo versions have been released, each featuring significant iterative improvements over the last. Demo2 brought notable changes compared to Demo1, and Demo3 introduced even more substantial overhauls relative to Demo2. As the latest publicly available version, Demo4 continues this development philosophy and takes content completeness and overall gameplay experience to the next level.

Demo4 Update Highlights

Compared to Demo3, Demo4 mainly brings the following changes:

Increased stage completion: All 8 main stages plus the introductory stage are now fully implemented and playable, extending the overall game progression.

Expanded boss battles: Building upon Demo3, which only included Doc Air Man, multiple additional bosses now have their own unique AI and combat mechanics (replace this placeholder with specific boss names if applicable).

Music recreation: A growing number of tracks have been rearranged and remixed, striving to enhance the auditory experience within the limitations of the 2A03 sound chip.

System adjustments: The route restrictions in Demo3 that required players to use two specific characters to complete the game have been re‑evaluated and refined, exploring more reasonable progression paths.

Polished details: Enemy placement, trap layouts, and item distribution in existing stages have been further adjusted to improve overall flow and playability.
