This is a patch that combines two other patches into one to create the hack.

The first and main patch is made by Master Linkuei in 2022 which is called the ”Remastered Edition”. This patch aims to improve upon the original Genesis (USA) version of Prince of Persia in almost every way. The second patch is made by God Mode and makes the game very easy to play through. In God Mode’s patch you have all 9 health points available from the start, you already have the sword so you don’t have to first go and get it, the timer has been disabled and the swordsman only take one strike to kill.

This patch on this page combines both of these original patches into one for a pleasant and easy play session to those who find this game hard and annoying to play.

God Mode’s Features Added:

 

• All 9 health points available from stage 1.
• Timer is disabled so you don’t have to rush.
• All Swordsman only take one strike to kill.
• pieces of the ceiling do no damage when falling on your head.
• No damage when falling from second floor heights.
• Already have the sword so no need to get it in stage 1.

KNOWN BUGS:

For whatever reason the password system is somewhat broken in this hack. After a stage is cleared and it displays the current stage password on screen, when you input that password, the stage never loads and it just goes to the main menu screen? You’re best to play this on an emulator with save states or a higher class EverDrive like the Pro, Core or X7 with save stating, basically anything that offers you another form of saving so you don’t have to rely on the password system alone. Some passwords do work but most are duds go figure?

 

A bizarre bug I found in Stage 12: When you reach your doppelganger double on top of the dungeon bridge, you’re supposed to press down and put away your sword so you can merge back with him, if you’re standing on the right side of him the game will crash! Instead you successfully need to keep advancing towards him and block his attacks so you can get passed him and stand on the left side of him, once on the left you can press down and merge with him and the game won’t crash. This seems to be the only bug I encountered from merging the two patches together and the broken password system is also relevant in Master Linkuei’s Remastered Edition alone without God Mode’s patch over it which suggests that the broken passwords come from his side of the patch.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Inside the ZIP file you’ll find the IPS patch, it is in Lunar IPS format and must be patched to the Genesis USA version of Prince of Persia.

Don’t patch it with the European PAL version of the game!
