Pole Position - PAL Remastered

A well remastered and well polished version of Pole Position for the Atari 2600. There is an official PAL version out there.However i feel the official PAL release was rushed and not been converted properly.

The retail PAL version the playfield was way too high leaving a huge black banner below the screen. I gone and moved the entire playfield down and centred so it will look great for better gameplay.

furtherall, I adjusted the colours so it is closely matched to it's NTSC counterpart. now the daytime looks like real bright daytime. The F1 car on the PAL version was Orange where it should be red. the track had orange and white stripes wiithout a shade gradient from the distance which I have restored here, made the orange colour red like the NTSC version.

Lastly. the PAL version was at 51.7fps rather than in proper 50.0fps. It originally has 302 scanlines. I gone ahead and made it with proper 312 scanlines for PAL standard.

Game works wonders on any emulator (Especially Stella) This game will work on 0riginal Atari 2600 Hardware (4-switcher, 6 switch & Atari 2600 Jr ) using the harmony cartridge. DISCLAIMER: THIS ROM HACK WILL NOT WORK ON THE NEW ATARI 2600+ ON A HARMONY CARTRIDGE

NOTE: When trying to patch this, Make sure when patching this using Lunar IPS, On the drop menu, Change the setting from “Most Common ROM Files” to “All Files” so that you can patch this to a Atari 2600 ROM format.
