Description

A better colour palette and graphic improvements of them PAL version of Activision's Pitfall II - Lost Caverns, The original PAL version release really lacked a lot of things and some of the colour palettes were odd.

That is until I hack the ROM dump and did some major improvements so that the graphics match the game's NTSC version, but will run properly at PAL 50Hz.

The improvements made.

  1. Added the sunset effect in the sky 2, Tree leaves have been improved more on v1.4 to slightly lightened from the previous versions
  2. The green grass BG is now light rather than dark
  3. The player's colour palette now matches the colour palette from the First Pitfall! game from 1982 by Activision and is no longer a white ghost look.
  4. Changed the checkpoint markers to Red.
  5. Water colour and waterfall is now a proper Blue.
  6. Restore Rock wall at the start of the game.

Game works wonders on any emulator (Especially Stella) This game will work on 0riginal Atari 2600 Hardware (4-switcher, 6 switch & Atari 2600 Jr ) using the harmony cartridge. DISCLAIMER: THIS ROM HACK WILL NOT WORK ON THE NEW ATARI 2600+ ON A HARMONY CARTRIDGE

NOTE: When trying to patch this, Make sure when patching this using Lunar IPS, On the drop menu, Change the setting from “Most Common ROM Files” to “All Files” so that you can patch this to a Atari 2600 ROM format.

UPDATE TO 1.4 Made the tree leaves on the game a little bit lighter and adjusted the HUE of the Blue sky so it's not showing the purple tinge to it.

UPDATED TO v1.3.1 Since releasing as v1.3 I forgot to add one more thing to it and that was the rock wall at the start of the game. So now it is 100% finished and is now the real true final version.

All good mate. 👍🏻it happens at times. I always do my best to be very descriptive when it comes to what's new to newer versions when I can. Hey in the end of the day. We're all human. It always pays to read beforehand. :) Enjoy the hack.

At first I didn't see it because you somehow removed the bold text from the previous version of the hack. Now I realize you added two more number points that tell the color of the checkpoints (from version 1.2) and the water have been changed. So yeah, it kinda was my fault there.

Read the Plaza Description! It clearly shows what's changed in v1.3
