Zelda – Allhallows Eve has become my favorite LTTP hack, and I wasn’t really expecting that beforehand. Knowing that the hack was created in just two months, I kept my expectations in check. But now, after having played it. I’m honestly stunned by the result this team has produced in such a short amount of time. Make no mistake, this is a fully featured hack. New world, new dungeons, new music, new graphics and even some new bosses. It’s frankly amazing!

The highlight of this hack are the five new dungeons. All masterfully crafted. This is superb dungeon design, matching the quality of the best ROM hacks and Nintendo’s own work. As a fellow ROM hacker I was at times humbled by the intricate designs and how well it all flowed.

As for bugs, I encountered a few. One door in the first dungeon teleported me out of bounds, making the game soft lock. The game also locked up when I got stuck in a boulder during a puzzle. And lastly I noticed a garbled map in a sub dungeon for which I presume the map screen shouldn’t be available. For a game prone to glitching, that wasn’t too bad. But I do hope the creators will patch out these things in the future.

Zelda – Allhallows Eve is a hack not to be missed for Zelda fans. Excellent, work team! Looking forward to any future work you create!
