Batman Returns Super Special Collection (Dark Edition)

Four hacks created to get the most out of this fantastic game, each with its own unique features. Choose your favorite!

1) Batman Returns Special Edition (U) (v21-07-26) [Hacks]

This hack features:

Bugfix & Hard Mode Hack v1.0 by MetHy

• Restored Batman's missing face sprite in three animations.
• HUD improvements (plus a small additional tweak by me).
• Pixel art improvements for Batman and several bosses.
• Fixed the incorrect palette used by the motorcycle enemy in Stage 3-2.
• Optional Hard Mode that doubles all damage taken by the player. To activate it, press SELECT on the START / PASSWORD screen. The bat cursor will turn red, and a sound effect will confirm activation.

Improved Controls Hack v1.0 by MetHy

• Reduced the delay between pressing the punch button and throwing a punch.
• Slightly reduced the delay before another punch can be thrown after a combo or single punch.
• Allows Batman to turn around while holding the punch button.
• Slightly reduced the delay before movement resumes after landing from a jump kick.
• Slightly reduced the recovery time after using the A+B special attack, making it more useful.

• Replaced the "No Item" text on the HUD with Batman's iconic emblem.
• Changed the HUD color during the Bat-Skiboat stage to match the Batmobile stage, since both are vehicle sequences.

2) Batman Returns Special Edition - 2 Players (U) (v21-07-27) [Hacks]

This hack features:

Batman & Robin Returns v1.1 by Corpse Grinder and DimelNEX

• Two-player mode: play as Batman, with Robin joining as Player 2.

Improved Controls Hack v1.0 by MetHy

Additional Edits by DarthVaderX

• Redesigned the HUD, replacing the "No Item" text with Batman's emblem for Player 1 and Robin's emblem for Player 2.

Unfortunately, I was unable to fix the issue that prevents Robin's emblem from appearing during the vehicle stages or change the HUD color during the Bat-Skiboat stage. Hopefully this will be addressed in a future update.

3) Batman Returns Dark Edition (U) (v21-07-26) [Hacks]

This hack features:

Bugfix & Hard Mode Hack v1.0 by MetHy

Improved Controls Hack v1.0 by MetHy

• New title screen.
• Darker colors for Batman's sprites, the Batmobile, certain enemies, items, the HUD, several stages, and cutscenes.
• Replaced the "No Item" text on the HUD with Batman's iconic emblem.

4) Batman Returns Turbo Edition (U) (v21-07-26) [Hacks]

This hack features:

Bugfix & Hard Mode Hack v1.0 by MetHy

Improved Controls Hack v1.0 by MetHy

• New title screen.
• Darker colors for Batman's sprites, the Batmobile, certain enemies, items, the HUD, several stages, and cutscenes.
• Redesigned HUD featuring new graphic elements, including Batman's emblem in place of the "No Item" text.
• Increased Batman's horizontal movement speed.
