I've been laying the ground work for another potential project I had my eye on. This time, is the for the NES game, "Reigen Doushi". (Yes, this game was released outside of Japan as "Phantom Fighter", but I wanted to work on it anyway.)
For those unaware, this game was based on a Chinese film which was released as "Mr. Vampire". When this game was exported, the license was stripped throughout. I wanted to release a patch how the game originally was.
As for what I've done, I've dumped script files of the game, hacked a translated title screen, applied a working English font and hacked the game's register and password screens. I also figured out how to make the game display a different default name. (This is in case the player starts the game without naming the main character.) All that's left is a translator who can translate the game's script files from Japanese to English.
