Sonic 1 – YOLO (You Only Live Once) Edition is a harder version of Sonic The Hedgehog 1 for Sega Genesis. You start off with one life only. All the rings are removed. All monitors are now Eggman Monitors, which will kill you when broken. Checkpoints are removed. The score system is staying at 0, which means no extra continues. There are no extra lives or shields.
