Ben mentioned a place to you via Discord from what I've seen, not too sure about the others. I did see the vote thing which had a fairly large majority for a classic setup. Maybe some of the points you raised can work their way into future refinement. I don't think everyone can be pleased in the short term, but gradual changes to layout and functionality should improve the default experience and allow for some custom options.
