Clarification for enabling online patcher

Hello, I'm curious about the qualifications for online patcher. :)

The submit page says zip archive formats will enable the online patcher. Is that all that needs to be done? Does that mean I can include as many patches in a single archive for it to work? Or do I need to submit multiple archives containing a single patch each? also are there any restrictions on the type of patch files like ips/bps/xdelta, etc... ppf for playstation games?

I think some information can be included in the instructions, including the encoding type (zstandard, deflat, lzma) etc. (y)

Hi,

Files type allowed for enable the online patcher on an entry are : a ZIP file (With single or multiple patchs in it), an IPS file, a BPS file, an XDelta file.
The online patcher is auto-enabled if you are a verified member and if the console is not "too unknown for patches or too recent". Otherwise, it needs to be enabled by a staff member. (Like on your previous entries since you were not verified at the beginning)

If you see this button, everything is good :

If you see the column "Patch" in the file download table but not the "Patch It" button, that's because the file extension is not compatible. (Or not included in the file list, please notify me in that case)
If you don't see the column "Patch" in the file download table, that's because Online Patcher is not enabled on the entry. You need to contact a staff member.

I hope I've answered your questions. 🙂

Oh, I get it now. Being verified has it's perks then. Thanks for explaining that. :giggle:

I checked all my posts. Some still do not have the patch button

I linked the ones that have problems.
These do not have patch enabled.

snk vs capcom
rockman battle & fighters
Samurai shodown 2

These have error unzipping

The last blade
Gal fighters
Sonic Pocket adventure

Is this a server problem? If not, I will re-upload the files later in hopes of fixing this.
In the future, should I just use the "report/claim ownership" button on the page instead of listing them here in case that's easier?

I've enabled it on the requested entry.

For unzipping errors, maybe the file has a specific type of compression incompatible with RomPatcher.js. Try to compress it as basic on 7Zip (If you are on Windows). Or just upload IPS file outside the ZIP file, it's works too.

Of course, you can. 🙂

I have update all my files using the deflate method. I had previously used lzma for best compression which caused the error.
Deflate is for best compatibility. Everything checks out now, thanks for the assistance. 😁

I also like to point out, I tried uploading animated webp for screenshots on this page.
The Left Image is webp format, it should cycle animations on the page. The gif image on the right does this as intended. But only when clicking to enlarge the webp image does it cycle animations.

Weird problem and when I look the difference between the two codes, there is no really big differences except the image when it's on big size to see, maybe it's reloaded.
Just upload it as a GIF file.
