A Locked Entry Was Given To Me But Without A Reason?

I recently uploaded an entry to my profile, (Sonic 1 - Under Neat) a Sonic hack, it wasn't made by me but I pretty much had permission to upload it and or share it around. Today I logged on and discovered that it was locked by staff (KANDOWONTU) at the requested removal of multiple users who demanded it to be taken down? At the same time a comment was left on it from another user (Selbi) saying that 99% if it wasn't made by the author that I put in the description and that I was highly praising a mediocre Sonic ROM hack?

Did I offend somebody?

I'm assuming I credited the wrong person for the hack and the rightful author put a complaint in after seeing it?

Can someone, probably staff please tell me why this ROM hack was removed and or locked? I'm sure there are legitimate reasons as to why some ROM hacks are taken down but can you please tell me why? If one of the entries I put up is taken down and or locked, I should have a right to at least know why?

I can add the attached file if anyone wants to see the ''offending hack'' for themselves.

It was brough to our attention that this hack has a history of drama, stolen elements:

"Under Neat contains stolen content from work-in-progress and final builds of other hacks, especially after being told to stop multiple times. He claims to be innocent in the midst of it, including with one of his other projects having Sonic's head ripped from South Island Expedition by RadiantNexus. The joke song Endless Marble is also stolen likely with the use of shady tools. As such, he's had a notorious past on various Sonic discord servers regarding said projects and stolen content. The only genuine addition was a misplaced chunk and random objects in Green Hill 1, and he's expecting us to believe this was meant to be in Sonic Hacking Contest 2025 based on what the description says."

We also recieved a second report about this user in private by another individual.

We have decided to take down this hack due to these issues.

Hi, Kandowontu, thank you for the reply and for providing me with the reason it was removed, I think I understand now, Mildanner is the individual spoken of who claims it was his hack in that paragraph? He did say he got banned from a lot of Sonic forums but I took no notice of that as some users get banned for very minor things. I honestly thought it was something I did as the sharer of this hack but it turns out it's got a troubled history I knew nothing about. I just found out that the Sonic Clean Engine is not allowed to be used for any commercial purposes, that's grounds for removal in itself on top of all the other stolen content.

If this is true and it seems to be true then you were right to remove it and in that case I support the decision. In a lot of cases, i'm only the amplifier between the hack and the outside community when it's not one of my own mods, so sometimes the drama hidden behind some of these hacks escapes me and or i'm not aware of. Basically I was lied to and given false information.

What annoyed me was the fact that there was no formal reason initially given to me as to why the hack got removed, (My Drafts) only mentioned that other users requested the removal with no other detail given as to why it received complaints, which prompted me to ask here in the forums.

To improve the site better it would be a good idea to make the claimant or offender when they report an entry as stolen or troublesome to provide a legitimate reason and forward that reason in writing over to the (My Drafts) section of the accused profile owner (me) in this case, because I was in a world of hurt and confusion yesterday thinking I really offended someone and was heading for a ban. I researched the details of that hack very carefully with the details I added in my description and decorated that download page for hours only for it to be removed 3 days later. I guess it can't be all smooth sailing, there has to be some ripples from time to time and this is one of them.

More like Sonic 1 - Untidy And Stolen.

I will make sure to add a more detailed note next time, my apologies for that.

Thank you for your understanding!
