It's, well...technically it's my post so I can be around here to announce updates about it

I have to present this to you more directly. Lately, I've been playing Sonic 1: The Next Level quite a bit, and well, 10 years later it's still impressive, and that's where what I'm about to tell you comes from.

Sonic Extra "Smooth," at least in the ROM I shared, completely lacked the "Smooth" aspect in Sonic's animations and several objects. So I went to the trouble of restarting the work to make it truly

Yes... I took on the challenge of making the animations and other elements of the first Sonic game for Sega Genesis "really smooth."

Although I'm not a master of VRAM for this, I've spent the last few weeks figuring out how to interpolate the animations of Sonic and other objects to make them smooth. And yes, I've learned a lot of coding just for this, so I don't know... is it progress?

a Friend and I started brainstorming a lot of ideas to "Smooth" out the inconsistent pacing of the first Sonic game. One of those ideas was to cut Act 3 of the zones, leaving only two acts, but longer ones with new gimmicks. We also tried creating new bosses specifically for the game and paved the way for other project. But so far, not many of those ideas have materialized into anything playable; they're just ideas and a bit of code scattered here and there.

Although I don't have a release date for this yet (since I need to focus on Another Project). Historically, I don't usually meet the deadlines I post here. At least I'm aiming to release this around Sonic's 35th anniversary, though only time will tell if I can pull it off.

Before I go...I'll share some pictures of what I've done...it's not much, but it's enough to show off that I have something tangible in my hands

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I've decided that this will be one of the last things I post here regarding my projects. I haven't felt very comfortable in these parts, especially since some people have already derailed entire threads about something from months ago. And don't think I know you... reacting with 😡 doesn't make you seem any different. I prefer to leave for my own well-being and to avoid problems with people I don't know.

i did like the hack, and i hope it will be completed in a perfect time, and also i don't think you need to feel uncomfortable over a guy who stalk you like in every post, just ignore them and think they don't exist, and if he try to like give you like a hate message you can report him for good and the mods will take care of him (i hope i didn't break any rule like mini modding etc but god help you rojo)

would be nice if someone stop the time counter in sonic games :D so we can explore the levels ;)
its a weird mix to play a RACING character in a supermario world :D:D

I forgot to mention, but... I updated the ROM with some minor improvements to the current game, as well as fixing a crediting issue with certain problematic individuals.
  1. The levels have been recompressed... they now use the loading method from Sonic 2 (meaning they load faster).
  2. Some sound issues have been fixed.
  3. Some Sonic sprites have been adjusted.
And well, I still assume there are people interested in the hack, so I'll try to see how I can bring the news of the next update here.
