Re: What was the reason Spike left the site?

He was mainly concerned that his association with prepatched content would hinder the site's potential. Some people were unclear about his exact role here, but most were completely fine with him just being the owner. I imagine he had other considerations, as well. Ultimately, it was his decision to ...

Re: Romhacking Communities with a dedicated place

Interesting. I used to know a guy who liked modding Sonic games, I think he used Esrael's editor during class once. :D

It'd be nice to have more tools for other MD/Genesis titles around. I noticed that well-known SNES games have more support on average.

"Sonic and Sega Retro Forums"

Focused on Sonic, but has some other Sega-related hacking discussions.
Homebrew sites might have more technical info.

Re: [Technical][NES]Script Insertion Help/ROM Expansion for Kamen Rider SD

I could not find this game for the NES. I think you mean the SNES game.

There are a couple of similar sounding games by the looks of it. One for each system (going by GameFAQs).

I only follow translation hacking stuff from a distance, so I can only suggest looking at one of the ...

Re: DOOM SNES

I'm not aware of any unofficial projects either (although there could be something hidden away somewhere). However, the developer is apparently working on a new edition:

It might be a good idea to contact him about future options. He released ...

Hello, PowerPanda.

I've seen some of your F-Zero work and it interests me a great deal. 8-)
Welcome to the board! I hope to see more of your projects in the future.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Looks like it has a lot of work put into it. :)

Maybe the author would like to post a copy on a few sites for better exposure..?
I'll probably take a better look at the Fire Emblem series when I get some time, as I've enjoyed some of the GBA battles.

What are you currently playing?

Just fired up Castlevania: CotM again recently. Lots of fun with cards. And I've been blasting through a few Doom levels every now and again.

I might pick up an old Zelda game or an overlooked RPG title in the near future.

Re: New PHPBB Forum

I don't bother with reddit, so I couldn't care less what happens there. :|

I just meant the recent voting on Discord about the forum. Since I have no major complaints about either software solution, I'm happy to leave the finer details between staff and whoever else.

Re: Romhacking Communities with a dedicated place

They're the main hacking forums for the series, to my knowledge. They have dedicated sections for this and that. Pokémon has seen a few different communities come and go over the years, but pokecommunity has usually been used to showcase well-known hacks going back to Brown and ShinyGold.

It's kind ...

Re: New PHPBB Forum

Ben mentioned a place to you via Discord from what I've seen, not too sure about the others. I did see the vote thing which had a fairly large majority for a classic setup. Maybe some of the points you raised can work their way into future refinement. I don't think everyone can be pleased in the ...

Hack Ideas Thread

A place to share ideas for hacks, whether it's to get feedback or to give somebody a challenge. I'll get the ball rolling...
  • A racing game where you play as characters from EarthBound;
  • A Pokémon game where you travel through time to solve problems.
Feel free to contribute however you like.

Re: New PHPBB Forum

The lack of thread titles seems to be a mobile/vertical issue on the front page. Don't know if that can be seen to at some point, but I agree that a recent activity feature would be convenient for many users. An old layout, give or take a few style points, is more familiar to members of other scenes ...

Re: New PHPBB Forum

LMAO. I think Benjamin might be able to tweak a few things with settings or the like.

The site for the forum software has a number of extensions, which anyone can browse for suggestions. And their own message board has an option for active topics, so that should be feasible. https://www.phpbb.com ...
